Job summary

The cardiology directorate provides comprehensive secondary and tertiary cardiologyservices to patients in North Central London. It is a centre of excellence for pulmonaryhypertension and carcinoid heart disease and provides tertiary level expertise ininterventional cardiology, echocardiography and valvular heart disease.

The Clinical Physiology team is expanding, and presently staffed by a Senior ChiefCardiac Physiologist supported by a team of cardiac physiologists and assistants.There is also a department co-ordinator, admissions co-ordinator, dedicated CRMadmin assistant and front of house receptionists. The cardiology department issupported by ten consultant cardiologists and a team of junior doctors.

Main duties of the job

  • Physiologist will perform 2-D Echocardiogram with supervision provided.
  • Assist in TOE's, Bike Stress Echos and DSE's.
  • Perform and interpret routine cardiac investigations.
  • Perform specialised diagnostics investigations.
  • Carry out complex scientific and clinical roles, including those working directly with patients.
  • Analyse and interpret and data compare investigative and clinical options.
  • Make judgements, including clinical and differential judgements, involving complicated facts or situations that impact on patients.
