Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for 1 year fixed term for maternity cover for a band 5 Radiopharmacy Technician positions to join the Radiopharmacy team (based in Nuclear Medicine) at the Royal Free Hospital, London.We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated team member with excellent attention to detail and accuracy qualities, effective communication skills, a flexible approach and an ability to work under pressure.This post will enable you to develop and utilise your skills within the speciality of Radiopharmacy.Please note this vacancy is banded dependent upon applicants experience relevant to this post. We are looking for candidates that meet the necessary threshold of skills and experience required to start on band 5. Applicants that meet the requirements for band 4 will also be considered.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be required to enable the delivery of a comprehensive, efficient and high quality clinical radiopharmacy service to the Trust and any external customers. The role includes the maintenance of the facility / equipment and aseptic manufacture and QC of a range of radiopharmaceuticals whilst complying with relevant statutory requirements including those related to GMP as defined in the MHRA Rules and Guidance for Pharmaceutical Manufacturer and Distributors. The post-holder should have a experience of aseptic manufacturing and/or working with radioactive materials.
Staff are required to work flexible hours as necessary for the service schedule. The normal hours of the department are currently 07:00 - 16:00, and staff work shifts to cover the service, with start times varying between 06:30-07:30. There may be occasions when duties have to be performed at weekends.
