Band 8B Principal Practitioner Psychologist

The closing date is 29 July 2025

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Practitioner Psychologist to join the Royal Free London (RFL) Infected Blood Psychology Service (IBPS). This is a new service established following the Infected Blood Inquiry (IBI) and it provides multidisciplinary psychosocial care for those infected and affected by the contaminated blood products. The service is the regional branch of the national IBPS and is hosted within the Katharine Dormandy Haemophilia Centre and Thrombosis Unit and collaborates closely with its Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), while maintaining its distinct identity. This post would suit a Practitioner psychologist with experience of working in physical health settings and MDTs, and ideally with experience of working with people living with chronic, lifelong medical conditions, and of people who experienced medical trauma. This post is full-time. As the service is currently in its mobilisation stage and requires working across different medical centres, we are currently unable to offer part-time or flexible work arrangements. For further details / informal visits, please contact: Guy Maissis, Lead Psychologist Infected Blood Psychology Service (IBPS), Royal Free London (guy.maissis@nhs.net)
