Job summary
This is a replacement consultant post based at the North Middlesex Hospital with a focus on asthma. The job will comprise a mix of inpatient care and outpatient clinics, and there is flexibility to allow successful applicants to grow and develop the service according to their experience. There will be considerable opportunity for service development and participation in clinical research as well as undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. We are looking for consultant physicians with experience of working in respiratory medicine, who can deliver excellent care to our patients and work with us to further develop our service to meet the needs of our population. Main duties of the job
Outpatient activities:
- Provide clinical care & leadership in outpatients
- 1 weekly asthma clinic
- 2 general respiratory clinics per week including supporting nurse led clinic
- Weekly participation in the NMH radiology meeting
- Weekly participation in the RFLFT asthma MDT
- Opportunity to participate in EBUS & bronchoscopy rota
- Opportunity to participate in pleural procedures list
- Triage of incoming referrals on the general respiratory pathway
Inpatients
- Managing the specialist respiratory inpatient ward & referrals on a rotational basis
- Supervision of ward junior doctors
Participation in the North Middlesex Hospital acute medicine weekend rota
