We have an exciting opportunity at Barnet Hospital to recruit a dynamic Band 7 Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to become part of our integrated Rapid Emergency and Acute Care Therapy Team (REACTT).
The successful candidate is required to be able demonstrate the Trust values, the responsibilities of the job description and person specification. The person applying for this position should be flexible and able to work in the fast paced areas of the Emergency Department , AAU (Adult Assessment Unit) and Same Day Emergency Floor and Clinics.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate therapist, who is keen to develop their specialist clinical knowledge and management skills. The successful candidate should be forward thinking and pro-active with excellent organisational and clinical skills within the fast paced Emergency Department, to facilitate admission avoidance and safe discharges. Good communication skills and the ability to make autonomous decisions under pressure are also required.
The Therapy Department will support the successful applicant by means of regular supervision, appraisal and training.

Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit a motivated Band 7 Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist with experience in this setting to provide clinical leadership to a highly specialised service with a keen focus on admission avoidance, frailty, quality improvement & providing exceptional patientassessment & care.
We are a trans-disciplinary, supportive & dynamic team who work closely with the wider MDT in Emergency & Acute medicine to provide comprehensive and effective patient care & intervention.
This includes multi-disciplinary working from the point of admission at triage and ambulance handover with nursing staff and paramedics through to comprehensive geriatric assessment and complex discharge planning with Speciality Consultants and community partners.
The successful candidate should be forward thinking and pro-active with excellent organisational and clinical skills to work within a fast-paced setting. They will be required to lead a multidisciplinary team & support prioritisation, caseload management, staff development & to facilitatetimely discharges in alignment with SDEC & acute medicine principles. There are opportunities to lead & participate in Quality Improvement projects and in setting new service directions. Good communication skills and motivation to encourage and facilitate best practice is required.
