Job summary
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Band 6 Nurse to join our dynamic Neonatal team in our busy Level 2 Unit. Starlight Neonatal Unit, at Barnet Hospital, is a 30 bedded unit which includes intensive care and high dependency cots.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to neonates requiring specialist treatment and support. As a Band 6 Neonatal Nurse, you will work as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing excellent patient care, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the development and delivery of neonatal services.
As a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse you will also be able to choose a flexible working pattern to suit your work life balance in a variety of clinical settings working as part of a committed multidisciplinary team.
We work closely with all the Neonatal Units within the trust especially the level 1 Neonatal unit at The Royal Free Hospital site which has 14 Special Care cots, with 2 designated Emergency cots, for stabilisation before transfer. Both units have friendly, motivated and dynamic teams that promote developmental care.

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
To undertake all nursing procedures and practises in accordance with Neonatal Unit polices and in conjunction with the Trust's policies. To ensure that all team members understand and follow the policies.
To assess individual care needs, develop, implement and evaluate care given to neonates and their families in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.
To recognise maternal post-natal complications and summon appropriate assistance.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR PATIENTS
To participate in the assessment, planning and provision of skilled nursing care in line with our family centred care approach.
To work in partnership with parents and other carers, empowering them to help safely care for their child.
To act as an advocate for the children and their families.
