The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is a central University College London (UCL) Medical School campus that teaches hundreds of medical students, at all stages of learning, every year across Barnet, Chase Farm and the Royal Free Hospitals. This year the medical team at Barnet will, be expanding their provision to host 5th year students on their COOP for the first time, in addition to existing 4th and final year students giving an exciting opportunity to be involved in the development of this module as well as delivering teaching. The post holder will also participate in the busy and varied programme of undergraduate teaching and assessments delivered by a growing faculty of education fellows across the Trust. The post holder will have access to study leave funding and would be supported in undertaking further qualification in medical education.

Main duties of the job

This is within a friendly and supportive team with consultant supervision and providing opportunities for workplace-based assessments, learning procedures and developing clinical skills. The postholder will be welcome to attend the wide and varied programme of educational meetings, and can access teaching specific to postgraduate exams if relevant. The appointed doctor will be part of the medical on-call rota, at either SHO or Registrar level depending on qualifications and prior experience.
