Job summary
The Critical Care team at Barnet Hospital is passionate about getting it right for patients, their families and staff. To achieve this, we are looking to appoint a passionate, enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic Senior Band 5 who will be seconded into a Band 6 Critical Care Nurse post for one year. The candidate should possess a UK accredited critical care qualification and hold a Practice Assessors qualification and be actively supporting both students and new members of staff within our 18-bed capacity critical care department.
This exciting secondment opportunity will aid in the development of your leadership and management skills within our proactive multi-disciplinary team. We will also endeavour to put you on a secondment Band 6 development programme. It is also expected to actively participate in a service improvement project on the unit.
Areas included in the Band 6 programme are:
- Enrolled onto ILS training.
- Appraisal Training
- Enrolled onto Recruitment & Selection Training
- Allocated band 7 and senior band 6 to support you whilst on the programme.
You will need to demonstrate a strong desire to be part of our team and have true passion to strive for excellent patient care and excel in your communication skills. - Providing high quality, effective and individualised nursing care to a variety of patients in a compassionate and caring way.
- Assessing care needs and developing, implementing and evaluating care without supervision whilst teaching more junior members of staff.
- Helping to lead and monitor the performance of the nursing team by completion of appraisals.
- Deputising for the Senior Nurse as required.
