Main duties of the job
The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust in Hampstead has a vacancy for a Band 2 housekeeper. The position will be covering the 4th floor Intensive Care Unit as well as the new 3rd floor EPIC unit, comprising of SHDU and PACU. The housekeeper will work both alone and as part of team in the critical care environment under the direction and guidance of the Nurse in Charge or his / her nominated deputy. The focus of the role is to support the nursing team by coordinating the provision of meals as well as helping to maintain a safe, clean, comfortable, and healthy environment for patients, fellow staff and patient relatives.
As a housekeeper you will be responsible for leading ward services such as catering, cleaning, equipment management and supplies. The work will include keeping the ward and staff areas clean, serving meals and clearing away afterwards. General duties may also include, but not be limited to:
- Keep facilities and common areas clean and maintained
- Clean and stock restrooms
- Clean up spills with appropriate equipment
- Notify managers of necessary repairs
- Collect and dispose of refuse
- Assist patient relatives when necessary
- Keep linen room stocked
- Any other duties not mentioned commensurate with training and reasonable expectation to ensure proper ward function
