Following new funding, we have an exciting opportunity for a band 7 Speech & Language Therapist to join our outpatient voice service.
The post will be based at both Barnet & Chase Farm Hospitals, within the Royal Free London Trust.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate would work within the outpatient Speech & Language Therapy team at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals serving a diverse clinical caseload.
You will work closely with the Head & Neck Voice ENT Clinical lead Band 8, a band 7 peer in Head & Neck Voice ENT and a rotational band 6. You will also join a wider Speech & Language Therapy inpatient service consisting of speciality teams in neurology; medicine and health services for elderly people; Rapid Emergency Assessment Care Therapy Team REACT; surgery, respiratory and Critical Care.
The post holder will have enthusiasm in assessing and managing voice disorders.
This will involve:
Assessing and managing patients with voice and/or swallowing disorders
Ensuring provision of high-quality person-centred care
Working in supporting UNI MDT clinics including SLT Led and Joint Voice clinic
Providing training to the wider multidisciplinary team
Supporting the learning and development of the therapy team
Utilising (or working towards) specialist assessment such as nasendoscopy.
