Job summary
The clinical practice educator will work collaboratively with the senior sisters within the division to deliver effective, high quality, safe patient centred care. She/he will lead the continuing education, training and professional development for the nursing staff to promote the acquisition of new skills and knowledge. She/he will develop and drive forward an education programme to ensure that nursing staff acquire the professional standards and competencies when caring for people.
Main duties of the job
The clinical practice educator will:- Ensure that mandatory training requirements are fulfilled and that staff education and development is aligned to staff appraisal and corporate, divisional, ward and service development needs.- Carry out the training needs analysis and agree educational funding applications in conjunction with the ward sister and coordinate student applications.- Develop guidelines and policies and undertake audits and reviews within the clinical area.- Demonstrate clinical leadership and act as a role model at all times.
