You will be working as a Clinical Physiologist at band 6 working in a Lung Function Laboratory.
You should hold a BSc in Respiratory Clinical Physiology, Biological Sciences or an equivalent qualification. The possession of relevant professional qualifications (ARTP part 1)and 2) is essential. You should be RCCP registered or at least be eligible and working towards registration.
Main duties of the job
A exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join our Lung Function team. The post holder will be predominantly based at the Finchley Memorial Hospital site however they will also need to be flexible and work across site (Royal Free, Barnet & Chase Farm Hospitals) as and when deemed necessary.
To perform a wide range of respiratory function tests listed below:
o Spirometry/flow volume loops
o Gas transfer measurements
o Lung volume measurements using body plethysmography and helium dilution
o Bronchodilator tests
o 6-minute walk tests
o Overnight oximetry
o Any other tests deemed necessary by the head of department
o Capilliary blood gas analysis including long term oxygen therapy assessments
o 6-minute walk tests
o Respiratory muscle testing (MIP, MEP and SNIP) and supine/sitting spirometry
o Sleep studies
The post holder will be involved in helping to further develop and expand the suite of tests currently offered. Additionally, will also be required to train staff and students within the hospital and those visiting on clinical placements.
