Job summary

Following the reorganisation of the Royal Free Hospital business unit divisional structure four new and exciting head of nursing roles are available for internal staff to aply for.

Working as part of the divisional triumvirate alongside the divisional clinical director and senior operations manager for two divisions this role will lead nursing strategy and the delivery of high quality patient care.

This role covers:

Acute medicine, ED and elderly care AND Medical specialties divisions

Main duties of the job

To work as part of the divisional leadership triumvarate team alongside the divisional clinical director and senior operations managers in two divisions.

The Head of Nursing will provide effective, visible clinical and professional leadership for nursing staff in the two divisions for which they are responsible. The post-holder will be responsible for leading nursing teams of cross-site/locality services and will therefore be expected to be work across sites.

To ensure the delivery of the trust's health and care strategy for high quality patient centered care in accordance with world class care values, excellence in education and world class research.

To ensure the delivery to the quality, safety, operational and financial objectives of the two divsions

To be responsible for assuring professional standards and practice in all aspects of nursing and midwifery practice are achieved within the two divisions, including adhering to statutory regulations to deliver excellent patient care.

To line manage Senior Matron, Matron, Lead and Specialist nurses in the division.
