Applications are invited for a Clinical Research Fellow within the Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) Imaging department and National Amyloidosis Centre at the Royal Free Hospital. This three year clinical research fellow post is available from September 2024. The Centre maintains a longstanding high profile clinical and basic science research programme and serves as the national referral centre for patients with amyloidosis. http://www.ucl.ac.uk/medicine/amyloidosis.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will contribute to the delivery of the clinical services within the Centre (NAC and Cardiac MRI Department) and will contribute to the centre's clinical research program. It is expected that the post-holder will develop their own clinical research projects relevant to their interests including areas of existing research such as cardiac imaging (echocardiography, MRI, CPET), proteomics, genetics, and clinical trials in amyloidosis. This will be under the guidance and supervision of senior academic staff. The postholder is encouraged to register for a PhD at UCL as part of the role, with annual registration fees to be funded by the Centre.The postholder will join a team of trainees and consultants in Amyloidosis and CMR. Duties will include, under consultant supervision, clinical care of patients attending the Amyloidosis and CMR services including those participating in clinical trials and liaising with colleagues to ensure patients receive the best standard of clinical care.
