We are looking for enthusiastic and innovative physiotherapists who value team working and have the desire and drive to ensure patients receive therapeutic input from staff that are compassionate and caring.
Here at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals, our physiotherapists play a vital role in supporting patients to optimise their abilities through therapeutic interventions and empowering collaboration. Each in-patient specialism has a multi-disciplinary team made up of therapy support workers, occupational therapists, dieticians, speech and language therapists and physiotherapists who work closely with their nursing, medical and surgical colleagues. Our outpatient services are well supported with Clinical Specialists and APPs and are involved in multiple innovative areas of practice.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to enrol onto preceptorship program and to take part in 6-month rotations in the following specialities across the Barnet and Chase Farm Hospital sites:
- Acute Stroke
- Acute Neurology
- Medical / Health Services for Elderly People
- Rapid Response
- ITU / Surgery
- Orthopaedics - trauma and elective
- Musculoskeletal Outpatients
- Pelvic Health Outpatients

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to manage their own clinical caseload and supervise therapy support workers as appropriate. You will be supported by highly skilled and experienced Band 6 to Band 8 staff throughout each specialty. You will be joining a well established and supportive integrated Therapy team, who work closely with the multidisciplinary team.
It is a requirement for this post to participate in the 7 day physiotherapy service and bank holiday cover.

To assess and treat own caseload of patients/clients, who may have complex and/or chronic presentations, as an autonomous practitioner, and maintain associated records. Access to senior staff is ongoing and clinical work is routinely evaluated.
To provide a high standard of physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic inpatients and outpatients
To develop effective treatment plans based on evidence-based research seeking guidance from senior physiotherapist when necessary
To coordinate interventions to enhance patient care which may include other disciplines e.g. surgical appliances, podiatry, occupational therapy, social work, general practitioners and consultants
To participate in CPD using evidence-based practice, audits and published research to inform own practice and take an active role in own professional development
To prioritise own workload and delegate to Support Workers when appropriate
