Come and work with us at the Royal Free Neurological Centre in Edgware, North London. The Neurological Rehabilitation Centre includes a 14-bedded level 2 neurorehabilitation unit serving North Central London as well as the Community Neurological Conditions Management Team (CNCMT), an MDT supporting adults in Barnet with long term neurological conditions. Neuropsychology is an integrated and highly valued part of the interdisciplinary team across the service

Due to exciting new investment in our services, we have redesigned this senior post to combine clinical work on our inpatient unit with leadership and clinical supervision responsibilities for junior colleagues in our community team. As such, there are opportunities for working across settings with people with a wide range of neurological conditions, including both acquired and progressive conditions, as well as to build or stretch your leadership and service development skills.

Main duties of the job

Direct clinical work includes assessment, rehabilitation and therapy with individuals, families and wider social networks, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches guided by client needs. There are opportunities to deliver group interventions to support recovery, adjustment and coping following a neurological injury or diagnosis.

Consultation and guidance to the wider team and networks around the person affected is an integral part of the role, as is close joint working in support of patients' goals. You will included into input to service development, teaching and training sessions. No two days are the same!

You will also be joining an expanding neuropsychology team based in the Neurosciences Directorate of the Royal Free London NHS Hospitals Trust. Our ethos is for every member of the team to grow as a clinician, a leader and to be supported to maintain their wellbeing in life and work. We meet regularly for journal clubs, complex case discussions and teaching and welcome colleagues bringing their own areas of specialist interest or skills into our team.

Clinical supervision is provided by an experienced Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist, and part-funding and supervision is available for colleagues wishing to pursue the Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QiCN). We have close links with the North Thames DClinPsy training courses and encourage colleagues to participate in developing future clinical neuropsychologists by offering placements and mentorship.
