Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Haemophilia Centre at Royal Free Hospital site for a Clinical / Research Fellow post for a period of 12 months. The Royal Free Hospital together with UCLP, offer a world class centre for basic and clinical research. The KD Haemophilia and Thrombosis Centre is a comprehensive care centre and with an international reputation in inherited bleeding disorders. In addition the thrombosis service provides thrombolysis service for deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and abdominal vein thrombosis.
The centre is very active in Clinical Trials running phase I to phase IV clinical trials. The centre has strong emphasis on training clinician scientists at the forefront of its research strategy, in order to ensure that research is at the vanguard of its clinical activities.
The post is full-time with working hours between Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00 and would be suitable for Haematology trainees at ST5+ level who wishes to gain experience in Haemostasis and thrombosis including clinical research. There is scope for participation in a 1:9 rota and the activities and assessments are as provided in the the updated curriculum for haematology training, published by Joint Royal College of Physicians Training Board.
