Job summary
To work closely with the Head of Finance Information systems and Assistant Director of Finance to manage and maintain the financial ledger. To assist the Financial Systems team in the operation and development of the Trust's financial system, ensuring the financial integrity of the ledgers and maintaining appropriate system access and security.
To assist in providing a helpdesk facility for all financial systems users across the Trust, providing advice, support, incident resolution and training as necessary.
To manage and maintain the Trust's electronic staff expenses system.
To manage junior members of the team within finance systems
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for
- The development and maintenance of the computerised accounting systems which account for the trust's revenue and capital transactions.
- Ensure that standing Financial Instructions and finance department policies and procedures are followed.
-Participate in reviews of procedures and protocols within the immediate area of work.
- Provide key reports to the senior finance team.
- Ensure that concise, accurate, relevant, business focused comment is given to users of financial information and seek to ensure that the information is used to support continuous improvements in operational performance within the Trust.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to present complex information effectively and persuasively to senior finance staff
