About us

The Royal Free London - World class care, local expertise

The Royal Free London (RFL) is a special organisation. A historic teaching hospital which has served communities in North London and its surrounds since its foundation in 1828, RFL combines world class medical expertise with local and friendly care, as it strives to tackle health inequalities in this vibrant part of the capital. Comprised of The Royal Free, Barnet, and Chase Farm hospitals, it is one of the largest NHS Trusts in the country and treats approximately 1.6m patients every year. The Trust has a strong reputation for innovation, high performance and partnership-building: not only does it closely collaborate with its neighbours (the North Middlesex University Hospital, West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals, and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital), it also performs a significant role within UCL Partners, the UCL Health Alliance, and in the North Central London Integrated Care Board.

RFL's mission is to be world class in its innovative healthcare services, ground-breaking clinical research, and future-focused teaching, combining world-leading expertise with local care - and the group is now looking for an executive team leader who will share that ambition, and lead inclusively across the group, supporting the delivery of improvement, change and innovation, and enabling the excellent, sustained, performance and transformation its communities need.
