Job summary

The Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO) is a Group wide role reporting to the Group Chief Nurse and working in collaboration with the Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) and digital clinical leads. This is a digital transformational leadership role requiring exemplary clinical credibility and an ability to take the workforce through change to work in innovative new ways. The CNIO will be responsible for advancing the quality of care by optimising the use of digitally enabled clinical initiatives that affect or involve nursing, midwifery and allied health professional practice. The CNIO leads the strategy, design, development and implementation of digital applications to support nursing and midwifery practices to improve both patient and staff experience across the trust.The CNIO serves as the principal Nursing and Midwifery informatics advisor to the Group Chief Nurse and ensures alignment with national and North Central London Sustainability and Transformation plans (NCL ICS/ICB).

Main duties of the job

o Responsible for strategic and operational nursing and midwifery leadership in development, deployment, re-engineering, optimisation, and integration of informatics to support clinical practice.

o Works with the Group Chief Nurse and Hospital Directors of Nursing, Divisional Directors of Nursing, matrons and other members of the multi-professional team in the design and delivery of patient pathways to enhance clinical outcomes, patient safety and patient experience.

o Works in collaboration with digital services, allied health informatics leads, pharmacy informatics leads, the Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) and the Chief Medical Information Officers (CMIOs) to design and implement clinical systems that support patient care, education, audit, and research activities.
