Main duties of the job
The Director of Vector will play a pivotal role in our cell and gene therapy facility within the NHS. They will be responsible for managing new and existing contracts, overseeing vector development, and providing leadership and guidance to a diverse team of GMP professionals.
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. and significant industry experience, combined with a strong background in vector manufacturing and development.
The post holder will be responsible for budget and ensuring the vector lab is income generating and work with the CCGTT Director to develop future plans. He/she will be responsible for development and costing of all new vector manufacturing; including those sourced from external providers.
. He/she will manage a team to conduct audits of external contract providers in partnership with the QM/QA of the CCGTT
The post holder will participate in the development and validation of all new vector manufacturing procedures and liaise with academic partners for research. He/she will continue this development process as new ATMPs progress from early to later phase clinical trial.
The post holder will be responsible for providing vector advice and expertise to other teams within and outside the Trust
