Job summary
The Support Services Manager position at the Royal Free Hampstead plays an integral role in ensuring the non clinical support services are delivered in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
The post holder will lead the Clinical Engineering outsourced services at Barnet Hospital, Chase Farm Hospital, Hadley Wood Hospital and other outlying units for the Commercial Contract Management function at Royal Free London Hospital NHS Trust Group. They will provide support to the Trust and Head of Clinical Engineering and act as the day-to day face of the governance system for medical device management outsourced service.
Main duties of the job
Be responsible to the Trust, ensuring effective contract management of all the Medical Equipment at Barnet Hospital, Chase Farm Hospital, Hadley Wood Hospital and other outlying Hospitals (replacement value of above £20 Million) according to the current legislative and contract requirements.
Support and provide advice in clinical engineering to RFL Property Services contracts & performance and the decontamination unit, Medical Devices Committee, Medical Gas Committee, EPR Connectivity and RFID/RTLS medical device tracking groups , Trust operational managers and Clinicians to achieve safe and long-term best value for money for the benefit of patients, staff and clinical service delivery.
Be the lead Clinical Engineer Contract Manager for a wide range of highly complex medical equipment used for the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of patients.
Ensure Contract compliance with all relevant legislation in the repair and servicing of all medical equipment
Be responsible for the management, risks, quality, CIP and KPIs and development of the services at Barnet, Chase Farm, Hadley Wood and other outlying outsourced contracts : delegating as appropriate to the structure
Be the Medical Equipment related CQC compliance contracts lead for the Unit, responsible for ensuring that the Trust meets the Medical Equipment related standards of the CQC
