Job summary
We are very pleased to offer the appointment of a Consultant Physician with a special interest in Diabetes and Endocrinology at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. The post is based at Barnet Hospital and includes participation on the Barnet Hospital Acute Medical Rota. This job offers an exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to join a committed team of consultants in this well- developed service.
The appointee will join a multidisciplinary team to deliver Diabetes outpatient services, with a subspecialty interest in Diabetic Foot management. In addition to a weekly multidisciplinary diabetic foot clinic, the post-holder will have one Diabetes clinic, seeing mainly Type 1 Diabetes patients with a growing cohort of patients using CGMS and Pumps. The appointee will also have a weekly Endocrinology clinic at Edgware Hospital, an alternate week Endocrinology clinic at Barnet Hospital and an alternate week Thyroid clinic at Chase Farm Hospital. The appointee will participate equally in the "Endocrinology On the Wards" inpatient and liaison service at Barnet Hospital.
Applicants for the post should have a CCT and GMC Specialist Registration, or be within 6 months of CCT at the time of interview and join the Specialist Register no later than 6 months after commencing the role.

Main duties of the job
An opportunity has arisen within the Diabetes & Endocrinology service for a Consultant appointment. You will join our existing team of 6 Consultant Endocrinologists and other Consultant Physicians based at Barnet & Chase Farm Hospitals, within the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder is managerially accountable to the Clinical Lead for Diabetes and Endocrinology. Applicants must hold MRCP or have equivalent experience and training and must be fully registered with a license to practice with the General Medical Council. GMC Specialist registration in Diabetes and Endocrinology and General Internal Medicine is required or applicants must be within 6 months of CCT for these specialties.
