An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly motivated and experienced Allied Health Professional with a specific interest in education to apply for the band 7 AHP education role to support development of:
- innovative practice placements within Allied Health Professions
- apprenticeships
- return to practice
The post holders will join our AHP Education Team and help us to provide world-class education, training, support and development of pre-registration students, apprentices and returnees to practice within the Royal Free London Trust. The position is for 1.0 WTE.
The successful candidate will meet the requirements laid out in the person specification but we are also looking for an applicant who would welcome an opportunity to gain a wider and more strategic experience of AHP education.
Main duties of the job
The purpose of the role is to contribute to the Trust wide development of high quality practice placements and learning environments for pre-registration AHP students and apprentices and returners to practice (RTP). The post holder shall work with the Head of Education and Development (AHPs) in the delivery of high quality patient care through providing and facilitating excellent education, training, support and development opportunities for pre-registration students, apprentices and RTP AHPs.
Applicants will need to:
- Have a working knowledge of AHP practice placements and apprenticeships across the Trust and HEI
- Implement local, regional and national education and development strategies for the Pre-registration, apprenticeship and return to practice training agenda
- Support the recruitment and retention of AHPs by facilitating robust innovative programs students, apprentices and returnees to practice and their practice educators and mentors or clinical supervisors.
- Facilitate the training and development of Practice Educators and Apprenticeship mentors or clinical supervisors to enable them to support students, apprentices and returnees to practice.
- Work with students, apprentices, practice educators and mentors, to provide support, education and facilitation.
- Evaluate the practice placement and apprenticeship and provide written reports
