Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to:
- To be an active member of the breast care nursing team with a willingness to develop new skills. To participate in the provision of high quality specialist nursing care to patients with breast disease throughout the patient pathway and entire disease trajectory.
- To work autonomously using expert clinical judgement and knowledge to provide informational and psychological care to patients and their families in conjunction with the multidisciplinary teams in acute care Primary Care and Tertiary care providers.
- To assist with all aspects of breast care provision in association with the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
- To act as a nursing resource, provide clinical leadership and expertise as a specialist nurse in relation to breast cancer.
- To take responsibility for own evidence based practice and to ensure awareness of current research to support and underpin specialist advice.
- To develop all staff within the multidisciplinary team, providing support, advice, formal and informal education.
