Job overview

The Royal Free London Foundation Trust are looking to appoint a part time (0.7/3.5 days per week) Senior Medical Photographer to work primarily in the Dermatology departments at Barnet and Chase Farm but to also be able to provide support at Edgware, Finchley Memorial and The Royal Free Hospital sites.

The successful candidate will provide and maintain a high technical and professional standard of work in the clinical photography service Trust wide.

Main duties of the job

Job Summary

Manage the dermatology photographic services at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals on a daily basis to meet the demands of the service working with the photography services manager to ensure continuity of service.Use specialist clinical photography techniques and skills including, dermatoscopy and UV to aid diagnosis and for care records.Provide general clinical photography services as and when required e.g., medico-legal, education, research and publication.

Provide supervision of photographic and administration staff on a daily basis, including, quality control, performance review and personal related issues.

Provide photographic training to appropriate Trust staff and bank medical photographers where necessary.

Provide advice and guidance to Trust staff when required on interpreting legislation and policy guidelines with regard to consent, confidentiality and photography.Management of clinical image database systems including backup systems to meet audit requirements.

Be responsible for the application of correct Health and Safety protocols and ensure all staff adhere to policies.

The post holder will have line and task management responsibilities including training for the medical photographers in liaison with the Photography Service Manager.

To assist in the development of the clinical photographic service internally and with external commissioning providers.
