Job summary
The purpose of this role is to support the Head of Learning and Development (and Deputy Director of Education) to provide comprehensive human resource (HR) support for a Trust-wide career development service, designed to improve staff experience and contribute towards improved retention and engagement of colleagues within the Trust. The role will support the forward planning, modernisation and performance of the workforce through career development initiatives.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the design and delivery of the Royal Free London, Staff Career Development Service on a trust wide basis.Supported by the learning and development and education teams the role will involve the formulation and on-going maintenance of project plans, supporting promotional documentation, training materials, organisational career pathways, careers advice and guidance sessions and workshops.The role will involve face to face and virtual group or one to one training and coaching across all sites in career development and advice for staff and managers.The post holder will need to have a detailed knowledge and understanding of NHS Careers and development pathways, as well as the cultural, academic and organisational barriers to progression that need to be overcome.They will require a high degree of attention to detail and the ability to solve problems and overcome blockers/obstacles to project delivery with a strong improvement focus.They will have excellent verbal and written communication, coaching, advice, negotiating and persuasive skills and will understand when different styles of communication are required to deliver improvement outcomes.
