Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated Band 6 Physiologist who shares our commitment to delivering world class care and has a passionate approach to cardiology in particular coronary and CRM work. You will have proven proficiency in performing the full range of non-invasive investigations and their interpretation. You will of course be qualified to degree level in the appropriate discipline.

We provide opportunities to develop your knowledge by attending courses and meetings as well as in-depth opportunities for in house training. As a tertiary-level cardiac centre and a national referral centre for pulmonary hypertension, Amyloid and Carcinoid heart disease there are opportunities to conduct research and ambitious development which you will be a part of should you so choose. We have a proactive approach to teaching complemented by our UCL medical school campus on site and continue to support our staff to gain further qualifications. We are also a PTP and STP training centre.

We are in the process of developing a number of physiologist-led pathways to streamline the care we deliver and the post holder can rightly expect to be part of this.

The post holder will be expected to participate in the on-call rota for which accommodation can be provided if necessary.

Main duties of the job

  • Performing and reporting on the full range of non-invasive investigations (excluding echo).
  • Undertaking cath lab duties (including on-call).
  • Contribute to the CRM follow-up service ( working cross site)
  • Mentoring junior staff
  • Taking part in research
  • Creating a learning environment for clinical placement students
