Job summary

This is an opportunity for doctors currently on London IMT training programs to spend a year working within Trusts on behalf of Health Education England as Education and wellbeing fellows.

Main duties of the job

  • Development, standardisation and improved delivery of IMT SIM for all Stage 1 trainees across London-including the new IMT3 SIM programme (mainly IMT3 SIM programme)
  • Continue and develop the Regional IMT Training Programme in partnership with the LMTN (London Medical Trainee Network) with a focus on a bespoke IMT3 programme (coordinating and working with our existing Ed fellow)
  • Develop wellbeing initiatives for Stage 1 IMTs with the aim to reduce the level of burnout, improve their experiencesand ultimately enable a higher level of achievement of curriculum competenciesand retention in medical specialties.
  • Improve traineeand supervisorengagement and competency usingeportfolioto increase desired outcomes at ARCP.

  1. The post-holders will work with the Pan London lead TPD for Simulation, Pan London Lead for IMT, Sector TPDS for IMT, and chair the London Medical Trainee Network in delivery of these 4 main objectives. The potholder will work across the sector of London in the delivery and be supervised by a consultant working within the sector that they have been appointed.

The post holder will also work on a sustainability plan to continue their work into the future as well as share learning with other schools within the Health Education England Network
