Job summary
As a Band 2 Clerical Support your role within the Early Pregnancy Unit/Gynae triage department at Southend University Hospital is pivotal in providing comprehensive administrative assistance.
You will be responsible for managing patient records, coordinating appointments, and facilitating communication between patients and clinical staff. You will need to demonstrate a compassionate approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a sensitive clinical environment.

Main duties of the job
- To provide high-quality clerical and reception support within the Early Pregnancy Unit.
- First point of contact for women and families experiencing anxiety, pain, or pregnancy loss, and therefore must demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and discretion at all times. The role ensures the efficient running of clinics and smooth coordination of patient care.
- Greet and assist patients, visitors and staff in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Co-ordinate the clinical teams to ensure the smooth patient flow and timely appointments.
- Use of the Careflow computer system for various processes, including the updating of patient demographics and hospital activity.
- Comprehensive use of in-house patient information systems to check patient information.
- Provide general administrative duties such as opening mail, answering the telephone/emails ect to support team members.
