Assistant Anatomical Pathology Technologist
We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Assistant Anatomical Pathology Technologist to join our dedicated team. This role is ideal for someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
This is a physically and emotionally demanding role where compassion and professionalism are essential. You will support the dignity of deceased patients at all times and provide an empathetic, sensitive approach when assisting bereaved families. Duties include the movement and preparation of deceased patients, supporting and facilitating family viewings, and maintaining a respectful, safe environment throughout.
Our department provides a full Postmortem Service, manages the body store, and offers a viewing service for bereaved relatives. You will work closely with Funeral Directors and Bereavement Services to ensure an integrated, compassionate service for families and their loved ones.

Main duties of the job
Manage the daily administration and organisation of mortuary operations.
Oversee all aspects of body handling, including receipt, storage, release, and associated documentation.
Coordinate and support patient and family viewings in a respectful and professional manner.
Maintain high standards of mortuary hygiene, ensuring all areas, equipment, and workspaces are kept clean and compliant with required protocols.
Adhere to all relevant health and safety procedures, including the safe use of equipment, infection prevention measures, and appropriate risk management.
