Join Our Team on Southbourne Ward - Medical Short Stay Unit
Southbourne Ward is seeking compassionate, motivated Staff Nurses to join our bright, friendly, and highly supportive team.
As part of the Acute Medical Service, led by Acute Physicians, our Short Stay Unit delivers high-quality care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions who can be treated and discharged within 24-72 hours. Teamwork is at the heart of everything we do, and we pride ourselves on creating a positive environment where staff feel valued and patients receive excellent, person-centred care.
On Southbourne Ward, you'll gain broad experience across acute medical specialties, including respiratory, cardiac, and neurological conditions.
Our patients may require skilled assessment, careful monitoring, or intravenous therapies, giving you the opportunity to develop and enhance your clinical expertise.

Main duties of the job
To ensure that an individual programme of care is planned, implemented and evaluated for each patient within own sphere of responsibility.
To work as part of the multidisciplinary team ensuring the delivery of a high standard of care to the patients.
To act as team leader including taking charge of the ward in the absence of the Ward Manager/Deputy Ward Manager.
To participate in all relevant aspects of the Governance process.
You will adhere to the NMC code of Professional Conduct at all times and ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
To act as a positive role model at all times.

- Recognised post registration stroke course of training
- Undertaken dysphagia training

- An awareness of relevant political & professional issues in health care
