We are delighted to offer an opportunity for a Consultant Cardiologist with Specialist interest in Devices and Heart Failure to join the existing enthusiastic and progressive multidisciplined team and working as a key member of the Cardiology team at Mid and South Essex Trusts. The job will be based at Southend Site
The primary focus of this post is to provide consultant level support to help the expanding device service.
Contribution to the MDT process will be expected, involving collaboration with Colleagues at the CTC.
Main duties of the job
You will join the substantive cardiologists within this service to meet the increasing outpatient demands of the fastest-growing town in Essex, working with their Cardiology colleagues in providing inpatient services initially on a consultant of the day-rota.
You will also undertake clinics and cath-lab sessions and there may be an opportunity for subspecialty interests to be accommodated.
Regarding Inpatients, you will be asked to contribute to the Consultant of the week model and the device on call roster aswell as supporting with the Cardiology in-reach service.

The post-holder will have broad general cardiology skills and hold a subspeciality interest, ideally devices and heart failure. The post is wholetime (10 PA).
This post will support the teams across the District General sites within the MSE footprint, supporting Southend for ideally device implantation (brady and complex) as well as helping to focus on the outpatient element for the service.
The division would encourage the development of at least one additional area of expertise and ideally would encourage candidates within an interest in device implantation to apply. Up to two PAs during your weekly schedule could be dedicated to the subspeciality area.
