Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the radiation protection team as a Diagnostic Medical Physicist (or someone close to achieving this or wishing to train to become one).

It is a full time role, but with the potential for part time working or annualised hours!

You will carry out the usual duties and role associated with a clinical scientist or diagnostic MPE responsibility including carrying out and supervising QC of x-ray equipment.

You carry out the roles and duties as specified in the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2017/24.

There is a lot of scope for development within the role and the team if interested.

Main duties of the job

Carry out Diagnostic Medical Physicist role for Diagnostic Imaging work carried out across the Mid and South Essex Group (MSE).

Assist in routine diagnostic quality assurance and control across the MSE.

Provide Diagnostic Medical Physics input into supported hospitals as required.

Develop additional skills / train other staff creating resilience in the team.

Develop skills or offer support within the fields of MRI and Laser protection if interested

As expected of a senior role you would be expected to take responsibility for QC of equipment, supervise and train other team members.

This includes incident management, research applications, protocol development etc.

You will be expected to attend relevant meetings and represent the team when required.
