Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to work with our senior leadership team for research, the post will provide operational management support across MSEFT and play an integral role in the development and performance of the MSEFT clinical research service.
So, if you have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills, are able to establish excellent communication networks to promote and encourage the adoption of clinical research studies across MSEFT.
You will be experienced in leading teams, have an understanding of NHS research agenda and working across the national research system, will be adept at developing strategies to support the delivery of research in line with local and national priority areas and key performance targets.
If successful, you will provide complex specialist advice and support regarding conduct of clinical research, including administrative processes to the clinical research teams. The post holder will also play an integral role in supporting the implementation of a new 5 year research strategy.

Main duties of the job
- Develop strategies to support the delivery of research in line with local and national priority areas
- Lead a programme of work to align processes across the MSEFT for research delivery ensuring performance targets are met
- Ensure a consistent approach to maintaining the standards set out in the UK policy framework for health and social care, national guidelines and directives and local standard operating procedures
- The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring a Quality Management System (QMS) that will include adverse event reporting, audit and monitoring and support any external inspections e.g. Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA)
- Engage with the sites clinical management structure across the MSEFT to contribute to the embedding of research as part of routine practice, identifying and overcoming barriers
- Work autonomously on a broad range of matters and make decisions on the day to day management or the service and service departments
- Direct line management of Research Approval Managers, and Quality Facilitator
