Do you want to work as a respected and valued Specialist Nuclear Medicine Technologist based at Southend Hospital.
The Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Radiotherapy Department, are looking for a highly experienced Technologist. You will be part of the Senior team supporting the Chief Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Southend and the other Nuclear Medicine sites within the MSE.
The Section has in place plans for 5 New Pro.specta SPECT/CT scanners (two at the Southend Site) to be installed and a genuine drive for developing new and improving techniques within the section. The Southend site provides MRT and GFR services
Main duties of the job
- To carry out specialist role assessing, diagnosing and/or treating own caseload of patients and maintaining associated records
- To carry out patient investigations relating to gamma camera studies, SPECT-CT scans, and non-imaging investigations.
- To dispense and administer diagnostic quantities of radioactive material, including administration by intravenous injection.
- To dispense and administer therapeutic quantities of radiopharmaceuticals as specified by the ARSAC certificate holders, where those materials are to be administered orally.

- PgD/MSc Nuclear Medicine, or equivalent experience to MSc level.
- Cannulation/IV Administration qualification
- HCPC Registration as a Radiographer or registration with an appropriate PSA accredited register (e.g., RCT, AHCS) as a Clinical Technologist (Nuclear Medicine)
