Job summary
As a Renal Registered Nurse, you will be at the heart of delivering exceptional care to patients undergoing treatment. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference by providing safe, effective, and compassionate care tailored to individual needs. You will take responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating personalised care programmes, ensuring the highest clinical standards are consistently achieved.
Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key part in creating a supportive environment for patients and their families, while fostering clear and professional communication across all levels. In addition to your clinical expertise, you will step into a leadership role when required, taking charge of the ward in the absence of the Ward Manager or Deputy Ward Manager. Your guidance and mentorship will help develop junior staff and students, promoting a positive learning culture and driving excellence in patient care.

Main duties of the job
In this role, you will champion collaborative practice by fostering clear communication and strong working relationships across the healthcare team to ensure safe, coordinated care. You'll build respectful and empathetic connections with patients, families, and carers through active listening and compassionate support, particularly during times of emotional distress.
Your responsibilities include delivering thorough, patient-focused handovers to maintain continuity and safety, as well as ensuring accurate, timely, and confidential documentation in line with clinical guidelines.
Working closely with the multidisciplinary team--including consultants, dietitians, pharmacists, and allied health professionals--you will help deliver holistic care tailored to individual needs. By promoting safe working practices and mutual respect, you will contribute to a positive, professional environment where patient wellbeing is always the priority.
