We are looking for motivated individuals with excellent communication & organisational skills who are dedicated to working as part of the team.
We are currently recruiting for Band 6 registered nurses to help maintain our very high standards of care. You will help formulate and carry out effective care plans for our patients and ensure they are delivered to the highest standard.
Our dynamic caring team are looking for colleagues who can communicate clearly and empathetically with patients and relatives as well as other team members. No two days in the department are ever the same, so we can guarantee a varied and interesting workload. In return, we would need someone with excellent organisational skills, the capability to prioritise a busy workload, masses of professionalism, good teamwork skills and an ability to work under pressure.
Band 6 Registered nurses working within the Emergency Department must be dynamic individuals with excellent communication skills. The Registered Nurses will be required to work within all areas of the department and manage various different presentations and deliver high quality patient care.
This may be from working in Minors applying dressings, plaster casts and wound closure or working in majors or the resuscitation area. The band 6 nurses must have experience and be able to manage the areas within the department, having a clear understanding of escalation and the ability to make clinical decisions to priortise care.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to assist the Ward Managers with appraisals, performance, absence management, build the team, focus on wellbeing and morale.
You must have significant ED experience and in charge experience , you will be triage trained, have excellent communication, team working skills, be able to make sound clinical decisions and support flow and patient care in ED.
To take charge of an area, be able to escalate concerns and prioritise and manage staffing with the support of the band 7 and ED Bronze. Make a thorough assessment of the patient's needs and document these in accordance with Trust policies.
Formulate a plan of care based on the identified needs of the patient, taking into account current evidence based research findings and ensure that all the care planned is delivered to the patient at the highest possible standard.
Work within the professional scope of practice and adhere to the NMC code of conduct, maintain professional development and high standards of communication.
Evaluate and document nursing actions and alter the care plan in accordance with the changing needs of the patient. To act as an advocate for the patient at all times and promote patient health through education
Pro-actively communicate and liaise with all members of the multidisciplinary team on matters affecting patient care. Ensure the rights of patients are respected at all times and assist in the provision of information, enabling informed decisions to be made about their care.
