Job summary
We are looking for Occupational Therapist who is keen to gain clinical experience within the field of Orthopaedics as a Band 6 within a forward-thinking, supportive and friendly Adult Therapy Service.
This is a maternity cover post : Contract End Date 31st August 2026
Our ideal candidate will have a passion for OT and a desire to actively participate in all aspects of the role including working flexibly when required across the orthopaedic team. You must be willing and able to lead on various elements of the work and training within this area of OT. You must be an effective team player with excellent communication and organizational skills and be able to demonstrate evidence of recent professional learning.
You will be able to access senior OT professional support and opportunities for clinical professional training and development.

Main duties of the job
Support Occupational Therapy provision on the Orthopaedic wards.
Assessment of orthopaedic patients to facilitate safe discharge home, this will be both elective as well as trauma patients.Cross cover to wards as required
You will provide specialist assessment and management skills of an Occupational Therapist, working with other members of the MDT to provide evidence-based patient centered care. You will provide leadership and supervision to junior staff, students and non qualified staff.
