An opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic dermatology team. The post holder will take responsibility for providing and maintaining a high standard of care to patients attending the dermatology department for Phototherapy treatment, as well as staff management, and management of clinics on several different sites. Our service covers Basildon, Broomfield and Southend hospitals with outreach clinics currently at Canvey Island, North Road, and Leigh on sea, and although this role is based at Basildon Hospital, some cross site cover or travel for management tasks will be required on occasion.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will:
Take joint responsibility (with the current CNS team) for the day to day running of the Dermatology services at Basildon and Southend Hospital, and associated outreach clinics, including audits, health & safety, service development, staff management & training and patient contact and care.
Ensure effective communication with patients, relatives and carers.
Ensure due regard is given to customs, values and spiritual beliefs of all users of the service.
Work with all members of the Dermatology team and other member of the multi disciplinary team to ensure that best practice is provided and maintained.
Liaise with appropriate departments to ensure that adequate levels of supplies are maintained.
Liaise with all users of the service to facilitate a seamless approach to patient care.
Work with clerical staff to ensure efficient effective management of clinics.
You will also deal with enquiries, concerns and complaints from patients and visitors in a courteous timely and relevant manner, informing a senior member of staff when appropriate of actions taken or, when necessary, referring an enquiry to a more appropriate member of staff.
