Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Advanced Audiologist to join us in the Adult Audiology team at Basildon and Thurrock Hospitals to develop our tinnitus service.
You will be fully competent as a specialist in tinnitus assessment and associated rehabiliation/management techniques.
You will have access to an excellent support network across the MSEFT Audiology Group. There will be the opportunity to work at the newly opened Thurrock CDC.
Main duties of the job
You will be able to identify appropriate testing programme for each individual case and interpret results, including complex cases.
You will be able to identify and implement programme of care based on results obtained, consistent with current professional body protocols and new developments in the science of Audiology. Exceptional communication abilities are required for counselling patients and families.
You will be responsible for the tinnitus service provision, and able to deputise for the site manager when necessary. This will require planning time of junior staff and establishing of training programmes.
You will be the liason with the wider audiology and ENT Teams, managing direct access clinics and ensuring timely and appropraite onward referral where required,
Be lead for tinnitus audit, patient feedback assessment and journal study.
To assist in the policy formulation of the tinnitus service. This will impact on other services including ENT and community audiology.
