Job summary
We are looking for a Clinical Fellow (ST3 Level) in General Medicine (with the possibility of specialist work) to support our Local Services Division. Our Teams are responsible for delivering high end acute medical care to patients promptly with discharge back to the community quickly from our Medicine wards.
If you desire quick patient turnover with a variety of acute medical problems to care for, then this is an ideal job for you.
You must have the required experience and MRCP certificate, or equivalent, to be considered for this role.
Main duties of the job
The duties outlined below are not definitive and may be changed in accordance with the needs of the service.
Multi-disciplinary team work is envisaged as a key component of the working of this Trust and will involve Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) discussion with other colleagues.
Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care.
Undertaking ward duties under the direction of senior colleagues.
Providing evidence-based care for patients in a multi-disciplinary setting.
Conducting suitable duties in cases of emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.

- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- MRCP (UK) full diploma or EEA eligibility
Desirable
- Higher degrees including MSc, PhD, MC (where the research thesis is not part of first medical degree)
Experience
Essential
- Have sufficient experience working in medical specialties (not including foundation level experience) at the time of appointment. Have at least 24 months' full time equivalent experience in medical specialties (of which at least 12 months must include the care of acute medical in-patients).
- Evidence of experience in a range of acute medical specialties, with experience of managing patients on unselected medical take.
- Previous experience of working in the NHS or equivalent.
Desirable
- Evidence of ST3 level procedural skills relevant to medical patients (clinical independence in central venous cannulation, chest drain insertion, joint aspiration, DC cardioversion, abdominal paracentesis.
