We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly and dedicated team on Lister Ward at Basildon Hospital.

As a Healthcare Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting our patients and nursing team. You'll help ensure that our colorectal nurses' outpatient clinics run smoothly, delivering compassionate, high-quality care while maintaining patients' privacy, dignity, and comfort at all times.

Working alongside qualified staff, you'll assist in a wide range of care duties -- including personal care, moving and handling, mouth and eye care, pressure area care, and supporting patient wellbeing. You'll also undertake both clinical and non-clinical competencies following training and assessment, ensuring you feel confident and supported in your role.

Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be a hugely valuable support to our team providing care to our patients. Every day will be different and you will work alongside the rest of the team carrying out a wide range of tasks and assisting with the flow patients through the service.

Undertaking observations, ECG's and urine samplesTransferring patients to other clinical areasTalking to patients and their familiesMonitoring patient conditions and escalating concerns
