Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Healthcare Science Support Worker.
You will be responsible for using various computer systems to contour external and internal structures on patients' CT scans in preparation for radiotherapy treatment plans to be prepared by the department's physicists and dosimetrists. 'In-house' training will be provided.Other duties will include the collection and collation of information required to produce treatment plans, locating and retrieving notes, scans and x-rays when necessary.You will also perform some routine clerical work, such as filing plans, answering telephone queries, updating databases and routine stock control.

Main duties of the job
To liaise with oncologists, physicists, technicians, dosimetrists, radiographers and other relevant staff, to ensure the completion of treatment plans according to protocol, and in a timely manner.To liaise with other groups such as surgery, radiology and ward staff.Use computer systems to schedule the work of treatment planning.To organise and prepare patient data prior to treatment planning.To provide support to the treatment planning section through filing, answering telephone queries, dealing with questions from other sections.To contour critical structures, as required by the oncologists, using a variety of treatment planning systems
