Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to apply for a fixed term secondment into a Matron's role in the Dermatology service at Mid and South Essex, NHS Hospital Trust.

This role is to work within the areas of the service that focus on skin cancer and long term dermatological conditions across the 3 main hospitals and outreach sites.

As Matron you will be a highly visible, accessible, and authoritative presence in clinical areas to which patients, their families and others can turn for leadership, assistance, advice, and support.

Main duties of the job

You, as Matron, will promote compassionate and approachable leadership, support our nursing staff to ensure that patients are always treated with dignity and respect and that the patient experience is appropriate to their individual needs and be highly visible and accessible to patients, relatives and staff in order to provide immediate assistance, advice and support, in liaison with Patient Advocacy and Liaison Service.

As part of your role you will be expected to work with the wider team to manage change and develop the Dermatology service.

Essential

  • Current knowledge of clinical nursing practice in the Dermatology Speciality.
  • Experience at Band 7 or equivalent.
  • Evidence of post registration education

Desirable

  • Masters Degree or evidence of study at masters level
  • Current surgical skills in Dermatology
