Job summary

This is a key role to support the Director of Procurement & Contracting, the Associate Director of procurement and supplychain and the Clinical Category leads, to deliver the strategic and operational business plan to ensure the provision of high-quality services and to meet the needs of local service users. This will involve working with and influencing Senior Trust Operational Managers, Clinical Directors, Directors of Nursing to ensure that the strategy is understood and that effective support for the strategy is achieved.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will lead Trust-wide and system-level procurement innovation initiatives, influencing regional and national procurement policy and practice through active engagement with ICS partners, NHS England, and procurement forums. This will include, leading the strategic development and operational delivery of a portfolio of innovative procurement programmes and projects, with a focus on new clinical products, medical equipment, and clinical trials of these products.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in Nursing or any Allied Health Profession with active clinical registration
  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent proven track record of experience at that level
  • Post qualification certification in one or more clinical specialties A/C
  • Project Management Qualification - Practitioner level
  • Management Qualification or equivalent experience.

Desirable

  • Quality Improvement qualification
  • Management of Portfolio - foundation and/or practitioner

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Involvement in leading significant and complex projects in the NHS and Experience of successfully delivering major complex change projects/programmes and initiatives.
  • Proven track record of introducing best practices with demonstrated success in implementation and evaluation
  • Demonstrated expertise in product knowledge spanning various clinical specialties
  • Proven track record of achievement in change management in a large and complex customer-facing organisation, including the NHS.

  • Experience of leading the development of clinical strategies
