Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and dynamic dietitian to join our team at Southend Hospital to provide a comprehensive inpatient and outpatient specialist gastroenterology service to patients requiring dietary support.
In this role you will be the dietetic clinical lead for gastroenterology and have the chance to review and develop the dietetic service in accordance with the service needs and national guidance.
You will work closely with the gastroenterology consultants, clinical nurse specialists, pharmacists, other gastroenterology dietitians across the Trust to help streamline services, as well as other members of the wider MDT. Excellent communication skills and team working are essential to the role.
Please note this post is a 12 month Fixed Term/ Secondment opportunity
Main duties of the job
You will join our team of 16 dietitians, 1 dietetic assistant and 2 admin support staff to provide a dietetic service for patients with gastroenterology related issues.
Your role will include:
Cover to the gastroenterology ward, in conjunction with the band 6 gastroenterology dietitian.
The provision of a specialist gastroenterology clinic and exclusive enteral nutrition clinic for outpatients
Specialist dietetic responsibility at an advanced level for patients with gastroenterology problems.
Promoting dietetics and the role of the dietitian in gastroenterology.
Service review and development.
