Job summary
Our Cardiac Diagnostic service is looking to recruit a full time Cardiac Administrator to act as our Receptionist, to act as a point of contact for patients entering our service whether face-to-face, via phone, or via email.
You will become part of a fun and friendly team who provide administrative support for the Cardiology team by, among other tasks, answering calls, responding to emails, and assisting with trouble shooting queries. You will also process incoming referrals, book appointments, and communicate with patients, healthcare providers and other departments within the hospital on a daily basis.

Main duties of the job
Your role will be to ensure referrals are received and dealt with in a timely manner. This will include all referrals for Cardiac diagnostic tests and clinics from GPs and Consultants, to ensure referrals are added to Tomcat, Lorenzo or EPR (as appropriate) and ensure referral date and clock start date is accurate and to liaise with clinicians and senior Physiologists ensuring that the management of clinics and scheduling reflect clinical priorities and patient needs
You will respond to patient questions, concerns and complaints, resolving issues at a local level where appropriate and escalating them where necessary and ensure that regardless of the mode of booking (Choose & Book or referral letter) that patients have equal access to clinic slots.
As our Cardiac Administrator it is your responsibility to understand and act in accordance with the Trust's 18 week, 6 week diagnostic and Cancer Access policies and to act as a point of contact between GP/Patient and the Cardiac physiology service ensuring that all information is available in time for the sub speciality clinics/GP appointments.
