Job summary
We are excited to invite applications for a Consultant Neurologist to join our dynamic and forward-thinking Neurology Department.
As a key part of the Specialist Medicine Division, the Neurology Department functions as a dedicated Sub-Directorate, delivering high-quality care across both inpatient and outpatient settings. The successful applicant will play a central role in the ongoing management of patients with a wide range of neurological conditions.
We particularly welcome candidates with a special interest in Headache or any other neurology sub-specialty, and are fully committed to supporting the development of clinical expertise. This includes providing access to further training, dedicated time for special interests, and opportunities to shape services around your area of passion.

Main duties of the job
- Provide a neurology service of the highest quality, which includes programmed activities for out- patient clinics and in-patient ward referrals.
- Contribute to development of the neurology service to support the trust in ensuring provision of high quality clinical care.
- Develop further links and patterns of shared working between Mid and South Essex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Barts and the London NHS Trust.
- Work flexibly with colleagues to support the timely management of emergency and inpatients
- Participate in multi-disciplinary clinical meetings (MDT)
