We are a department that supports flexible working and welcomes your application. Working at Basildon Hospital would entitle you to the additional 5% HCA fringe benefit.
Main duties of the job
This post will enable you to further develop your skills in nutrition support, over a range of specialties, commencing in renal medicine. Through the rotations you will also gain experience in the specialties of stroke, surgical (including parenteral nutrition), gastroenterology, cardiothoracics (including critical care), respiratory medicine, and oncology.
In these rotations, you will be able to provide input into the various MDT services and into specialist acute care. You will develop your dietetics skills in each specialty, including parenteral nutrition, and transferable skills will be enhanced in each rotation you undertake thereafter.
We are a large proactive team of dietitians that strives for continual improvement in the services we provide. There will be the opportunity for you to get involved with projects, audits and service developments. We provide dietetic student placements and there will be a chance for you to participate in student learning and development. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to support preceptorship of newly-qualified Band 5 dietitians.
